The MCS offers unique preferences to allow you to customize your posts, characters and forum user panel. You can choose to show profile links that direct to your Character Sheet instead of your Forum Profile. You can also choose to show up on Who’s Online – under your character’s name! Or, you can choose not to do these things – it’s up to you. The following are a list of preferences that you can set to customize your experience:

Contents

Forum Interface Preferences

Who's Online To show up under your character on Who’s Online, you must have this checkbox selected. On the Who’s Online page, your Character’s Name will show up where your account name normally would.
Display as Character Checking this box will allow some of your character information to take place of your information in your user panel: your avatar and name.
Show Character Profile Link Checking this box will change all of the links directing to your profile and redirect them to your character sheet.
Show Character Posts This overrides showing your account’s total posts for showing the amount of posts you’ve made under your character. This will only show up when making a post or sending a personal message.
Default Forum Avatar Instead of uploading a new avatar for each character, or if you have an avatar uploaded on your account that you’d like to share with your character, click this box.

Uses the avatar from your Forum Profile instead of the signature from your character sheet.

Default Forum Personal Text Instead of coming up with new blurbs or popular one-liners for your personal text – check this box and it’ll display on your posts and personal messages the personal text from your forum profile.

Uses the Personal Text (or blurb) from your Forum Profile instead of your character sheet.

Default Forum Signature Uses the signature from your Forum Profile instead of the signature from your character sheet.

Modify Character Template

Beginner (Recommended) This is the default Template that you can use to modify your character sheet. It’s the beginner version, with everything spelled out for you. It has descriptions next to fields with helpful tips for each to help you build your character. We recommend this character sheet to any new comers and to those who aren’t experienced in using BBC (forum) code.
Advanced For users who enjoy using BBC (forum ) code and have a great deal of experience with it, we offer this way to you. Both templates offer the same number of fields that are required or suggested by our Character Creation guide. To make a character using our Advanced Template, all you have to do is insert the information between the tags. For example: [alignment]Neutral Good[/alignment]. Anything can go into these tags – therefore giving you the ultimate degree of customization for your character application. You can find a list of all tags that are set in stone on the Advanced Template page. Also, remember the Miscellaneous Fields from the Beginner Template? You can still use those in the Advanced by using this:

[field=name,1]data[/field]

To put it simply:
[field=name “Name” being the title of your new field.

[field=name,1
The 1 (must be a number, 1 or 0) is there for the Show on Profile bit. For this new field to show on your profile, you must include the 1 after your title. Otherwise, you can leave it empty or insert a 0 afterwards.

[field=name,1]data[/field]
Lastly, the “data” part is where you insert the information for your field.

Importing Application

Application URL: For those who have created a topic manually instead of using the MCS to create their application – and want their application to show up on their character sheet – they must import their application to the MCS.

This couldn’t be easier – all you have to do is give the link (MUST BE A FORUM LINK) and insert it into the textbox and select submit.

Once submitted, the first 3-5 posts that you made in that topic will show up. Check the checkboxes next to the posts that are relevant to your application and check the checkbox next to “Make this my Primary Application?” if you want it to show up on your character application and then click Import.

Once finished, you can now edit your application on the Character Application tab.
